Message regarding the COVID-19 pandemic
Thank you.
Fellow Book Lovers, we miss you and need your help!
Books Among Friends, the Friends of the Durham Library’s (FODL) big book sale location, is looking for a new home. Northgate Mall is no longer a viable option for us. We are eager to reopen in a site that would work as a Donation and Distribution Center and possibly, in the future, as our new book sale location. We need your help in finding a suitable spot at a relatively low cost.
We are looking for approximately 3,000 – 4,000 square feet in a safe and reasonably central location. It must have a bathroom and running water, a working HVAC system, easy access for donors, and safe parking for volunteers. We are fortunate to have shelving and equipment, so the less ”upfitting” the better. Every dollar we spend is a dollar less that can go the library, so donations of space, reduced rent, or even the donation of a building would be gratefully reviewed.
The FODL Board and all the sorters are eager to serve you again, and we hear from the community that you have missed us, too! So please help us get back to business. We very much welcome any leads you may have! Please call 919-560-7159 or email FODLdonations@gmail.com with ideas.
Thank you!
