Books Among Friends is our bricks & mortar store (literally!). It is also our base of operations for all that we do, including accepting and processing donated books and other materials, as well as selling those items to raise funds that support the Durham County Library system.
This is where you can pick up your online purchases and/or drop off your donations by appointment. We do have occasional in-person sales at the store, and at Library locations, all of which are announced on our Events page.

Online shopping on our site is very easy. Browse our thousands of books and our selection of puzzles & games, buy from the comfort of home (or wherever), and pay at the on-line checkout. Your order will be ready for pick-up within 3 days. You do not need an appointment to pick up your items.
YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR ITEMS. WE CAN NOT SHIP THEM TO YOU.
Regular pick-up hours at the Books Among Friends store are:
Tuesdays 10am to 3pm
Thursdays 10am to 12pm
Saturdays 10am to 3pm
When you are ready to pick up your items, come to Books Among Friends at 3825 S. Roxboro St., Durham, NC 27713 and ring the doorbell or call us at 919-908-6004 (this number is posted on our door) and we’ll bring your books to you. With our deepest thanks.
