We accept donations by appointment only on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12 to 3pm.

Just pull up in front of the store (next door to Family Dollar) at your appointment time, and we will help you unload. Thank you for your donation.
We gladly accept:
- New and gently used books
- Compact discs (CDs)
- Audiobooks on CD
- DVDs
- Vinyl records (LPs, EPs, singles)
- Intact puzzles and games
We cannot accept:
- Books without intact covers and bindings
- Books with mold, water, smoke, or other damage
- Reader’s Digest condensed books
- Encyclopedias
- Magazines or other periodicals
- VHS or cassette tapes

Volunteer Your Time
The Friends of the Durham Library is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that supports the Durham County Library system. We operate Books Among Friends, which comprises both a physical location (at 3825 S Roxboro St., Durham) and an online bookstore at www.shopfodl.org.
Our need for volunteers is currently being (mostly) met by active members of the Friends. We sometimes need new volunteers for specific tasks, which we will identify here on this page and elsewhere (e.g., via email, Facebook, etc.).
